JOSE Mourinho’s English Premier League Champions Chelsea FC will fly into Sydney on Sunday morning in preparation for an end-of-season showdown with Sydney FC in front of a massive crowd at Stadium Australia.
A passionate group of Chelsea supporters are expected to greet the squad, due to arrive at Sydney International Airport at approximately 10.15am.
The travelling party includes multiple Player of the Year award-winner Eden Hazard, as well as four more players – Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, Nemanja Matic and Diego Costa – who were named in the English Premier League Team of the Season.
Other established players such as Petr Cech, Cesar Azpilicueta John Mikel Obi and Loic Remy have also travelled, while youngsters Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Izzy Brown, Nathan Ake and Andreas Christensen, all of whom have played for the first team in recent weeks, are part of the group.
Legendary manager Mourinho has also included some of the other talented young players who helped Chelsea win both the UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup this season in the squad.
Mourinho wants to use the Sydney tour to blend some of these Next Generation superstars into the senior group.
The Chelsea FC v Sydney FC game is on track for an 80,000-plus sellout as sports fans clamour for the opportunity to see Chelsea play in Australia for the first time in 41 years.

- 5:15pm – General Public Gates Open – entry via Gate K only
- 6:00pm – Chelsea open training session commences
- 7:00pm – Chelsea open training session concludes
