January 2019 will see the Wanderers host four games at Sydney’s Olympic stadium, with the New Year’s Day double the early highlight.
Wanderers W-League head coach Dan Barrett sees the Melbourne City game as the perfect test for his team.
“We go out this year to win games and that will be the mindset, particularly at home,” said Barrett.
“City will always be a team you look for on the draw to see when you come up against them, and they are the games, that personally myself and the players look forward to.”
Building from the success of the Sydney Derby double-header at Stadium Australia last season, the W-League Derby will kick off the season as a stand-alone fixture at Marconi Stadium on Thursday 25 October.
