IT has been the venue for most of Sydney’s biggest sport and entertainment events since 1999, but Stadium Australia also plays host to more than 250 meetings, conferences and special events each year.
This week Stadium Australia hosted the NSW launch of Toyota Australia’s newest petrol/hybrid creation . . . the All-New Corolla Hatch.
About 400 NSW Toyota staff were present for the official car reveal, which ran for three days and included an exclusive test drive around the streets Sydney Olympic Park.
The Stadium’s underground carpark doubled as a giant garage for 25 of the sleek new vehicles across the Corolla range of Ascent Sport, SX and ZR models. Five All-New Corollas were carefully driven into the Level 4 Members area.
“It was a long and delicate process to get five vehicles into the Members’ Lounge. The cars were driven up the Stadium’s iconic spiral ramps to Level 4, where several wooden and glass doors had to be removed to allow them into the showroom,” explained Andreas Breitfuss, Stadium Australia General Manager Catering.
Toyota Australia’s Vice-President Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley said Corolla, more than any other car, had built the reputation of the Japanese automotive industry and the success of Toyota Motor Corporation.
“This all-new Corolla hatch leapfrogs everything in the affordable small-car segment and sets the new benchmark,” Mr Hanley said.
“Corolla has become the world’s and Australia’s best-selling passenger car – and the new Corolla Hatch is even better through our commitment to produce more appealing and dynamic cars.
“Many of its ground-breaking technologies and class-leading features would normally be found in more expensive, prestige models.”
Stadium Australia – Sydney’s Olympic stadium – boasts an array of function spaces that offer corporate and private groups a unique venue in which to host events.
From meetings, conferences and seminars to gala dinners, cocktail parties, weddings, Christmas parties and other special celebrations, the Stadium’s 16 versatile function rooms – including outdoor terraces overlooking the arena – can be tailored to any specific event.
Provided there is no conflict with events on the arena, corporate and private groups can also request access to the famous Stadium Australia pitch, change rooms and the seating bowl.
