A rugby league revolution taps off at Stadium Australia Friday as Touch Football shares game-day billing with the National Rugby League.
The opening games of the NRL Touch Premiership will feature men’s and women’s teams from the Parramatta Eels and Wests Tigers in curtain raisers to the NRL’s Eels v Warriors clash on 18 May.
Gates open at 3:45pm on Friday with the Women’s fixture tapping off at 4pm and the Men’s fixture following at 4:40pm before Eels v Warriors kicks off at 6pm.

The NRL Touch Premiership will feature six clubs and will consist of six rounds plus a final with NSW and Queensland teams competing against each other in separate pools, with the winners from each pool progressing to the Premiership Final in July.
Touch Football was born out of rugby league 50 years ago, and Touch Football Australia CEO Steve Mitchell is excited about showcasing the elite version of this sport to an audience beyond the 613,000-strong Australian touch football community.
“These players, both male and female, have been playing touch football non-stop since they were five or so, and the speed, the agility and the skill level is just phenomenal,” Touch Football Australia CEO Steve Mitchell said.
“We’ve seen so many touch football players – from Benji Marshall to Kalyn Ponga, Bevan French, Matt Dufty and Maddie Studdon, for instance – move from touch football into professional rugby league. So we’re excited about giving our touch players a tournament that allows them to showcase their skills in this sport on a national stage.”
The Parramatta Eels, Wests Tigers, Newcastle Knights, Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys are all represented in the NRL Touch Premiership with each club fielding both a men’s and women’s team.
Stadium Australia will also host the Wests Tigers v Newcastle Knights on 21 July, played before the Tigers v Rabbitohs Round 19 NRL fixture.
Fans attending the game will have train travel to and from Stadium Australia included in their ticket with additional transport running for the game.
Eels Express shuttle buses will be running from Castle Hill (3:46pm, 4:01pm, 4:16pm, 4:31pm), Dural (3:53pm, 4:08pm, 4:23pm) and Rouse Hill (3:32pm, 3:47pm, 4:02pm, 4:16pm) to Sydney Olympic Park.
