SYDNEY’S Stadium Australia has been revealed as the All Blacks’ most unsuccessful venue in world Rugby with passionate Wallabies fans turning the Olympic stadium into Fortress Sydney.
Despite their dominance in international Rugby, the All Blacks will go into Saturday night’s opening Bledisloe Cup Test with a lowly win ratio of just 47%, compared to their lofty 85% strike-rate at other major world venues.
Since the Stadium opened in 1999, the Kiwis have managed just seven wins, seven losses and a draw – and they will enter the game knowing they haven’t won at Stadium Australia since 2013.
The sea of gold filling the stands has made Stadium Australia a hostile environment for the visiting All Blacks with the passionate Gold Brigade – the most vocal of Wallabies supporters – in the northern stands at the heart of the atmosphere.
Head here for tickets and be part of the passionate Bledisloe Crowd.
Sydney Olympic Park will be a sea of gold with about 70,000 fans expected to flow into the precinct on Saturday for a 4pm start to a pre-event party.
With live entertainment, a monster marquee and 50m bar, pop-up cafes and the entire precinct bathed in gold there’ll be no better way to start the sporting feast than the party rockin’ and rollin’ outside Stadium Australia.
The Stadium will have a golden halo as projections light up Sydney’s Olympic venue and other buildings in the precinct, including Olympic Park Station.
Fans are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the cost of public transport being included in all tickets to the Bledisloe Cup game. For all the details check out the Transport NSW page here
