THE AFL has scheduled three Swans blockbusters at Stadium Australia in season 2014 – including a Round 2 supergame against Collingwood on Saturday 29 March and a mouth-watering clash against Hawthorn that will feature new Blood, Lance “Buddy” Franklin up against his former club and team mates on Friday 9 May.
The traditional rivalry between Sydney and Collingwood will make for a fitting first home game of the season for the Swans, while their Round 8 clash against 2013 premiers Hawthorn will be a must-see replay of the nail-biting 2012 AFL Grand Final which saw Sydney take the premiership by just 10 points.
The final round of the regular season will see Stadium Australia play host to the AFL’s biggest improvers in 2013, the Richmond Tigers. Richmond’s continued improvement is expected to ensure an exciting match-up with the Swans and a fitting entrée to the AFL final series in Sydney.
