THE NSW Blues will have to do it the hard way after losing narrowly to Queensland in a controversial opening game of the Holden State of Origin series at Stadium Australia.
Crucial decisions went against the Blues before the Maroons scraped home 6-4 in front of a massive crowd of 80,251 at Origin I.
The Blues looked to have scored the only try of the second half when Boyd Cordner crossed late in the game. The on-field referee called it a try. So did the crowd. But the bunker saw it differently. A fine line between pleasure and pain for the Blues.
Now all eyes are on Game 3 at Stadium Australia on Wednesday 13 July when the Blues will have the opportunity to raise the State of Origin Shield in front of their home fans in Sydney . . . but only if they can hit back against the Queenslanders in Brisbane.
Either way, Laurie Daley’s men need your support as they attempt to turn the State of Origin momentum back NSW’s way. Game 3 is also likely to be the Origin swansong for inspirational Blues captain Paul Gallen.
