PASSIONATE NSW fans are ready to turn Accor Stadium into Fortress Blues on Wednesday night with a crowd in the vicinity of 80,000 anticipated for Ampol State of Origin Game 3.

With a full house expected, fans are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the fact ALL TICKETS include travel to and from Olympic Park on public transport, including Sydney Trains and Major Event Buses.

The Accor Stadium gates open at 5:30pm on Wednesday and the precinct will be alive with colour, energy and excitement in the build-up to Origin.

Fans are encouraged to allow additional travel time on a workday Wednesday and ARRIVE EARLY and to be in their seats ahead of the pre-game entertainment starting at 7:30pm.

Despite Queensland’s recent dominance in State of Origin, the NSW Blues have an outstanding record playing in front of their home fans at Accor Stadium – winning 19 (with one draw) of the 30 Origin games played at the venue since it opened in 1999. Queensland have one just 10 games.

The northern end will be filled with 8000-plus wig-wearing Blatchy’s Blues supporters – arguably the most passionate footy fans in the country.

Tickets to Game III of the 2023 State of Origin Series at Accor Stadium are on sale via Ticketek.

Event tickets for State of Origin Game 3 should only be purchased through Ticketek (the authorised seller for State of Origin) as tickets cannot be guaranteed through unauthorised sellers.

Important Traffic & Transport Advice

All tickets to Ampol State of Origin Game 3 at Accor Stadium include entry and return travel on all public transport services including Sydney Trains services, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses and regular Sydney Buses services, Sydney Ferries and Light Rail services – with plenty of additional services running.

Additional measures and staff will be in place around Sydney Olympic Park & Accor Stadium to safely manage crowds arriving and leaving the event; please be patient and follow the directions of staff on site.

Food and Beverages

The VenuesLive Catering team will serve dinner to about 80,000 fans at Accor Stadium for State of Origin Game 3.

The team will be led by General Manager Catering Mark Adler and Executive Chief Craig Veigel with the expertise of Culinary Ambassador and Australian food icon Matt Moran.

“Our chefs will serve a wide variety of meals to suit every fan’s culinary expectations and budget . . . from high-end dining in our Accor Stadium Members’ areas and the Private Suites to the ever-popular footy fare in the public areas,” said Mark Adler

Accor Stadium will have special Blue treats on offer for GA patrons:

Blues Classic Smashed Cheeseburger – $16.90

Blues Donut Holes – $8

All the regular footy fare will be available for fans in food stalls and bars at Accor Stadium, including Vili’s piessausage rollsburgershot chipshot dogsice creams andcrisps.

Stadium chefs will prepare about 8000 plated meals for Accor Stadium Members and Corporate Guests.

Remember, Accor Stadium operates as a Cashless Venue.

Weather

Good news – sunny days and clear (albeit cold) winter nights are forecast for Origin week.

Wednesday’s maximum temperature at Accor Stadium is expected to be a pleasant 19C. The Bureau expects it to drop to 12C for kick-off and to be as low as 9C by fulltime.

Wear warm protective clothing to the footy to make sure you enjoy the evening.

Entry requirements

Allow additional time for the Stadium Entry Process.

All patrons and bags will be subject to the security screening process. To help avoid delays, it’s best to leave your bag at home. On all event days bag sizes are limited to 30x40cm.

Major Sporting Events in July to Bring Huge Crowds to Accor Stadium and Drive Visitation in NSW

From the NSW Blues and Game 3 of the 2023 Ampol State of Origin series to the Green and Gold of the Matildas on Day 1 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, Sydney’s Accor Stadium will host two of the nation’s biggest sporting events this July.

In the space of eight magic days in July, the Stadium will host:

The Westpac NSW Blues v Queensland Maroons in Ampol State of Origin Game 3 as the Blues kick off a new era and try to claw a game back into the Origin series on Wednesday 12 July;

Australia v Republic of Ireland in an opening day blockbuster to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ on Thursday 20 July.

Capacity crowds are expected at both events, bringing thousands of regional, interstate and international visitors to Sydney.

While the Westpac NSW Blues will be chasing their first win of the Ampol State of Origin series, demand for tickets to Origin 3 in Sydney remains high.

Despite Queensland’s recent dominance in Origin, NSW has a remarkable record at Accor Stadium where they have won 20 (and drawn 1) of the 30 Origin matches played at the Blues’ spiritual home.

NSW fans can be expected to turn Sydney Olympic Park into a Blues fortress come July 12.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™
Australia v Republic of Ireland

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ will be the biggest international sporting event seen in Australia since the Sydney 2000 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

The Matildas will feature on Day 1 of the tournament, with a sellout crowd expected for the match against Republic of Ireland at Accor Stadium, which will revert to its generic name Stadium Australia under FIFA’s international “clean venue” regulations.

Thirty two nations will be represented at FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, with Stadium Australia to host five major games including the Final match on Sunday 20 August
