Legendary Asian rock band, Mayday 五月天, is returning to Australia with their 25th anniversary tour.
Following their electrifying, sold out three show Australian tour in 2023, the band is returning for one historic show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Saturday 22 February 2025, becoming the first Mandarin rock artist to headline the 50,000+ capacity venue.
This year, Mayday celebrated 25 years of music and live performances with an impressive track record of 9 albums, 3 concert films, 2 documentary films, 13 themed concert tours, and a total of 588 large-scale concerts, which coincides with the “5” in Mayday’s band name and “25” that symbolizes Mayday’s 25th anniversary, echoing the magical number of the tour name, “5525”.
Their journey has taken them around the world, performing at iconic venues and connecting with millions of fans. Their dedication to live music and their strong connection with their fans have solidified their status as one of the most popular and influential bands in Asian music history.
Marking their 25th anniversary, Mayday’s #5525 tour seamlessly blended stage elements and song selections, mirroring their musical journey over the years. The setlist featured iconic tracks from their debut album to their ninth album, each song resonating with the sentiment, “There’s a Mayday song in everyone’s heart.” The innovative stage design is yet another collaboration between B’in Live and Grass Jelly Studio, using cutting-edge visual technology to deliver an impeccable feast of music, sound, and visuals.
The main stage will feature a giant LED sphere called the “Time Machine”, complemented by “five floating dancing balls” that extend the visual impact. The entire setup consisted of 13,000 custom-made 360-degree curved surface LED display panels, delivering the highest quality of 16K resolution when combined. The visual system, powered by Disguise media servers, creates a truly unparalleled audio-visual experience.
This meticulously crafted stage, aligned with Mayday’s 25-year musical journey, will transform into a deeply moving and memorable performance for fans and critics alike.
