Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour has set a new concert crowd record at Accor Stadium with 338,776 fans in attendance across four history-making nights.
Since kicking off in March 2022, the Music Of The Spheres World Tour, produced by Live Nation, has sold over 12 million tickets across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, making it the most highly attended tour by a group of all time.
The last time Coldplay toured Sydney was in 2016, and last week they further upheld their reputation for delivering a visually stunning and enthralling show.
The crowds were in full voice for hits such as Yellow, A Sky Full of Stars, Viva La Vida, Fix You and Paradise as well as hits feelslikeimfallinginlove and We Pray from their latest release, Moon Music.
It’s been an unparalleled 18 months of major international concerts at Sydney’s Olympic stadium, with Coldplay following Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, P!nk, Foo Fighters, KISS, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Guns N’ Roses.
The major events are set to continue at Accor Stadium with Luke Combs, the high-octane Race of Champions first-ever Australian event, Oasis, Metallica, State of Origin and Juicy Fest just some of the events announced so far.
Sports Minister Steve Kamper said:
“It’s been an unbelievable year of major events at Accor Stadium with records broken and so many good times had by the million plus fans who have attended live concerts and sporting events.
“Once again the Minns Labor Government has proven Sydney is the home of major events in the Australasia with record crowds gathering for the world’s biggest shows.”
Venues NSW and Accor Stadium CEO Kerrie Mather added:
“It’s been such a special year of major events at Accor Stadium and across the Venues NSW network with another record crowd broken with Coldplay delivering four exceptional shows.
“It’s been a year of concerts like no other with so many more big-name performances to come.”
