Mark down 1-2 October for a weekend of sports action bliss with the Final of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup at the Sydney SuperDome (Qudos Bank Arena, 4:00pm) before the culmination of the NRL season unfolds with the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final at Accor Stadium on Sunday October 2.
The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup begins September 22 with Sydney Olympic Park hosting all 38 games across 10 days of non-stop basketball action.
Tournament ambassador and Aussie basketball legend Lauren Jackson said: “The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup is one of my favourite events as a player, so I’ve been looking forward to playing the 2022 tournament on home soil.”
A packed house of 20,000 is assured for the FIBA WWC Final ahead of 80,000 fans packing Accor Stadium on rugby league’s biggest stage: NRL Grand Final Day.
NRL Grand Final Day will feature three games including the NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership decider and the 2022 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.
This massive weekend of sport further showcases the return of major global events to Sydney as NSW continues to lead the way in hosting the biggest and best sport and entertainment events.
Following hot on the heels of the super sports weekend will be one of the most popular family events on the planet . . . with Monster Jam locked in for Accor Stadium on Saturday 8 October.
Then it’s a summer concert line-up to remember with, Guns N’ Roses on November 27, Red Hot Chili Peppers with Post Malone on February 2, Ed Sheeran on February 24 & 25 before Harry Styles on March 3 & 4.
