KEEN for the start of footy season, 19-year-old Sarah de Vries decided to take the trip up to Sydney from her home in Canberra with her dad and brother to get behind her beloved Bulldogs as they opened their 2014 campaign at Stadium Australia on Friday 7 March. Little did she know that the ultimate prize pack was waiting for her.
Using Stadium Australia’s new free Wi-Fi service launched at this NRL Round 1 opening weekend, Sarah entered the Ultimate Super-Fan competition and in a random draw won the Stadium’s biggest ever prize pack which included:
- Two Stadium Australia Memberships – meaning a guaranteed seat at every game in 2014 plus perks
- Accommodation for two people for State of Origin II and the NRL Grand Final
- Two NRL Digital passes
- Two mobile phones with unlimited data
“I’m still so excited! This means I’ll be able to go to all the Bulldogs home games and finally witness a State of Origin live – I’ve never been before. I actually just got a Blues jersey for my birthday so this is perfect timing,” told Sarah, who works two retail jobs by day – in a jewellery store and a local costume shop.
“It was great to connect to the Wi-Fi at the Stadium. I found it really easy and spent the night of Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.”
Stadium Australia is the first stadium in Australasia to offer free Wi-Fi to ALL fans in and around the Stadium precinct, following a partnership with Telstra and internationally-renowned stadium Wi-Fi provider Cisco.
The NRL Round 1 triple-header may be over, but fans can continue to lose themselves in the action on-field and online using Stadium Australia’s free Wi-Fi service.
Keep an eye out – over the next 18 months, Stadium Australia will progressively roll-out new features and rich digital content with the new technology. From receiving instant replays and game statistics, through to being able to order food and beverage from seats, as well as receiving live traffic updates, the progressive rollout aims to enhance the live event experience for fans in and around Stadium Australia.
