VENUES NSW Chairman Christine McLoughlin says NSW is leading the way in creating pathways for women in sport, with strong programs in place to help them leverage their success on and off the fields of play.
“Women’s sport is booming in Australia and NSW is leading the way in hosting major events and promoting our athletes and supporting their growth and development in and out of the sporting arenas,” Ms McLoughlin said.
“We stand proudly behind our record in NSW and Australia, with strong programs in place to create pathways and opportunities for women in sport.”

Stadium Australia is a passionate supporter of women’s sport.
The Stadium has hosted:
- The first W-League/A-League Sydney Derby, which is now a regular feature on the Australian football calendar;
- The first Australia v New Zealand rugby double-header featuring the Wallaroos v Black Ferns, on Bledisloe Cup day Saturday 18 August;
- And it will host the upcoming historic Grand Final of the NRL Holden Women’s Premiership on Sunday 30 September.
Stadium Australia is solidly behind the nation’s bids for the 2021 Women’s Rugby World Cup and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Among the Stadium Australia sporting Ambassadors are some of the nation’s most exciting young athletes – football’s rising stars Elli Carpenter and Jada Whyman, rugby league’s Kezie Apps, and Australian rugby 7s gold medallist Alicia Quirk.
The Ambassadors help drive the Stadium’s community and charity programs as the Stadium remains a vibrant hub of community activity day to day.
