THE NSW Blues kicked off their Holden State of Origin series preparations today with a training session at the game-changing NSWRL Centre of Excellence . . . just a footy kick away from the front gates of their home ground, Stadium Australia.
Coach Fittler and his staff ran the Blues through their paces with new faces Cody Walker, Cameron Murray, Payne Haas, Jack Wighton and Nick Cotric getting a taste of Origin camp with the team looking relaxed and in good spirits ahead of their Game I clash in Brisbane on Wednesday 5 June.
The Blues are out to make it back-to-back series wins and hoist the shield on home turf for the first time since 2004, with Fittler calling on NSW fans to #BeTheDifference by turning Stadium Australia and the surrounding precinct into a giant Blues Zone.
The Blues will head to Queensland’s Suncorp Stadium for Origin Game I before making the trip west to Perth’s Optus Stadium for Origin Game II on Sunday 23 June.
A new generation of Blues, including James Tedesco, Nathan Cleary, Damien Cook and Latrell Mitchell, secured a historic series victory at Stadium Australia in front of 82,223 passionate fans in 2018.
