Members & Fans Win with Train Travel Included in Tickets to All NRL Games at ANZ Stadium

  • Train travel to all NRL Premiership games at Stadium Australia included for all pre-purchased ticket holders, NRL Club Members and Stadium Australia Members
  • Fully integrated public transport (trains, buses, ferries) for Easter blockbusters – Rabbitohs v Bulldogs; Wests Tigers v Eels
  • Direct trains from Central to Olympic Park Station for all NRL games

NRL fans and Members will again have train travel included with pre-purchased tickets to all regular-season matches at Stadium Australia during the 2016 Telstra Premiership season.

In another win for fans, the NRL, in partnership with the New South Wales Government, Stadium Australia and the five NRL Clubs that play at Stadium Australia, announced the deal today.

Any fan with a pre-purchased ticket to an NRL Premiership season match at the stadium will be able to travel to and from Olympic Park station on rail link services at no additional cost. Train transport to all games at Stadium Australia will also be included in NRL Club Memberships, as well as for Stadium Australia Members.

NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said this was another positive example of several stakeholders and Clubs all working together to ensure that fans have the very best experience possible, live at matches.

“Stadium Australia will again witness history throughout 2016 and today’s announcement of train travel included in match tickets is another win for many Club fans,” Mr Greenberg said.

“I am delighted that everyone has agreed to again support what has been a very popular initiative, with thousands of fans taking up the train travel offer and experiencing some of the best rugby league games live.”

Stadium Australia Managing Director Daryl Kerry congratulated the NRL and NSW Government – along with Sydney Trains – for supporting the transport initiative that will make it easier and more affordable for fans to get to games at Stadium Australia throughout the 2016 season.

Mr Kerry also thanked the Stadium’s two longest-serving NRL tenants, the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs, along with Wests Tigers, Eels and Dragons, for playing an integral part in securing the deal.

“There will be a feast of rugby league action at Stadium Australia in season 2016, starting with Rabbitohs vs. Knights this Saturday and it’s great news for the fans that train travel is included in tickets and Memberships to all premiership games at the stadium again this season,” Mr Kerry said.

“There are also some classic match-ups over the Easter period and NRL fans will be able to take advantage of fully integrated transport (trains, buses, ferries) for Bulldogs vs. Eels on Friday 18 March and for two of the great events on the calendar – Rabbitohs vs. Bulldogs on Good Friday and Tigers vs. Eels on Easter Monday.”

The integrated train travel will apply to the entire Sydney Trains network and the NSW TrainLink intercity network. That includes fans travelling from as far away as Bathurst, the Blue Mountains, Hunter Region (from Dungog / Scone), Bomaderry, and Goulburn.

Sydney Trains has also agreed, whenever possible during the NRL regular season, to provide two direct train services to Sydney Olympic Park taking into account the demographics of the two competing teams (in cases when the two competing teams are Sydney based), and one direct train service when the opposing team is out of Sydney.
