THIS year Stadium Australia Members raised $30,000 at the annual Member’s Dinner for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and today, Friday 12 October, the cheque was presented as part of the Hospital’s 2018 Radiothon.

For 24 hours the Hospital was turned into a circus for a big day of special acts, entertainment and fun activities for sick kids and their families.

The Radiothon Appeal aimed to raise $4 million dollars towards lifesaving medical equipment, conduct research into childhood disease and deliver vital services to patients and families.

Every contribution – no matter how big or small – was doubled by the Hospital’s generous price matchers and the fundraising tipped over the $4 million goal with just over an hour to spare.

Since becoming benefactors, the Stadium has contributed more than $400,000 in proceeds and value-added tickets and hospitality to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

As a key player in Australia’s major events calendar, Stadium Australia as an organisation understands and embraces the opportunity it has to make a positive difference in the community.

The Stadium uses its high-profile sporting Ambassadors to help drive its Community & Charity Programs, such as those who attended the Member’s Dinner this year.

The $30,000 raised in 2018 at the Dinner will go towards refurbishing the parent’s rooms in the Children’s Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital.

Long overdue for an upgrade, the parent’s rooms are used as emergency accommodation for families who find themselves at the hospital in extreme circumstances.

The Children’s Hospital at Westmead provides specialist care for children from around Australia and across the Pacific Rim as well as community education, advocacy for improved child health and ground-breaking research into childhood illnesses, all in a positive, caring and healing environment.

Thank you to all the Members who contributed to this year’s donation and bring on the 2019 Member’s Dinner!
