Afternoon Kick-off Confirmed For Celtic V Everton With Both Clubs To Hold Free Open Training Sessions Ahead Of Sydney Super Cup

THE headline clash of the Sydney Super Cup on Sunday November 20 between Celtic FC and Everton FC at Accor Stadium is now moving to an earlier time – kicking off at 2:45PM instead of the originally advertised 8:05PM.

The updated afternoon timeslot brings the match in line with traditional UK football Sunday afternoon kick-off times, which will only enhance the atmosphere at the match and ensure all local fans in attendance get the chance to experience a unique football atmosphere between these two global football heavyweights.

In addition, the more family friendly timeslot will maximise the attendance of junior footballers in NSW, who will no doubt be inspired by the chance to watch some of the world’s best up close.

To further connect with the fans as part of the Sydney Super Cup, both Celtic and Everton will hold open training sessions, allowing fans to see their favourite Hoops and Toffeemen up close before their respective first fixtures.

Everton will hold their open training session at Accor Stadium at 6:30PM on Friday, November 18 ahead of their opening fixture against Celtic on Sunday, November 20.

Celtic will hold their open training session at Allianz Stadium at 4:00PM on Wednesday, November 16 ahead of their opening fixture against Sydney FC on Thursday, November 17.

The official open training sessions will be FREE for all fans.

General public tickets for all three games are now available, click here for further information.

In further good news for fans, tickets to the Sydney Super Cup match at Accor Stadium and CommBank Stadium include return train travel, while the match at Allianz Stadium includes return travel on all modes of public transport (i.e. trains, metro, regular bus services, Sydney Ferries, and light rail services).

TEG CEO Geoff Jones said the open training sessions for both teams will allow fans to see their favourite players up close and personal ahead of the festival of football.

“On the back of Celtic’s fantastic league form and Everton’s star riddled side, we’re expecting great turnouts for the opening training sessions,” he said.

“It’s a unique opportunity for Australians to see these elite athletes in peak condition rather than during a pre-season trip.”
