SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK will be buzzing this Easter long weekend, with more than 125,000 people expected in the precinct each day for Stadium Australia’s #EasterFootyFeast and the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
This weekend’s big winners will be footy fans, with return public transport included in all tickets to the Good Friday clash between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Western Sydney derby between the Parramatta Eels and Wests Tigers on Easter Monday.
Fans are urged to leave the car at home and take advantage of the additional and driect trains and buses in operation on Friday and Monday’s games.

“With two NRL blockbusters scheduled in conjunction with the Sydney Royal Easter Show, this is one of the most exciting weekends of activity at Sydney Olympic Park each year and the best way to get here and enjoy the events and atmosphere is on public transport,” said Stadium Australia Managing Director, Mr Daryl Kerry.
“The Sydney Olympic Park precinct was built to handle huge crowds and Sydney has shown in the past that when the major event transport services are utilised, and when we give ourselves time to get out and enjoy the day, things run smoothly.
“Direct trains and additional services, plus major event buses, are running across the Easter long weekend making it easy for the whole family to travel to and from Stadium Australia, with the cost of transport included in your NRL match ticket or club membership.”
The Sydney Olympic Park Authority is advising that NRL fans who intend to drive to the Good Friday or Easter Monday games must have pre-booked parking, via Ticketek or the SOPA website.

In previous years, thousands of fans have combined both a visit to the Royal Easter Show with an NRL blockbuster – and scores of Show bags will surely be carried into Stadium Australia on both Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Gates open at 1.40pm and kick-off to the NRL game is at 4pm for both Rabbitohs v Bulldogs on Good Friday and Eels v Tigers on Easter Monday.
The Good Friday showdown between the Rabbitohs and the Bulldogs drew a then NRL Sydney record crowd of 51,686 last year.
The Eels and the Tigers plan to build their Easter Monday game into an annual blockbuster to rival Good Friday’s monster clash.
The Royal couple, Prince William and Dutchess Kate – along with baby George – will join the Show crowd on Good Friday.
The Sydney Olympic Park precinct was built to handle massive crowds, with a record 225,000 people attending on Good Friday last year with minimal transport issues.
The message is clear:
- Take advantage of the fact the cost of Train travel and Major Event Buses is included in all tickets and Memberships, and leave the car at home.
- If you must drive, only enter Sydney Olympic Park is you have pre-booked parking.
