IT’S going to be a battle of the fans at Accor Stadium on Sunday 20 November when Scottish champions Celtic FC take on famous English Premier League club Everton in the feature match of the #SydneySuperCup series.
Both clubs have been allocated active fan zones that will hold in excess of 5000 fans with the expectation that it could be close to a 50/50 split of Celtic green and Everton blue around Accor Stadium on game day.
Tickets for the highly anticipated Sydney Super Cup match are now on sale.
Fans are encouraged to get in early to secure their seats and avoid disappointment.

Everton were EPL pioneers to Australia, playing games back in 1964 against the Australian national team (now known as the Socceroos) at the SCG (AUS 1 Everton 5) and MCG (AUS 2 Everton 8).
The Blues also toured in 2010, playing at Accor Stadium against Sydney FC. (Sydney FC 0 Everton 1)
The northern stands of Accor Stadium – above which towered the Olympic Flame at the Sydney 2000 Games – hosted the passionate FC Barcelona fans for their recent monster clash with the A-Leagues All Stars.
It’s also the end from which the Socceroos’ active fans in Terrace Australis cheered on then coach Ange Postecoglou and the Socceroos to victory in the AFC Asian Cup in 2015 against Korea Republic.
In a huge 12 months for football at Accor Stadium, Members and supporters have witnessed a record crowd for a Matildas international in Australia (36,109 against USA 27 Nov), a Socceroos FIFA World Cup qualifier against Japan (crowd 41,852 on 24 March), the Barca in Sydney event that attracted 70,174 on 25 May, and now the feature match of the Sydney Cup series this November.
Everton are one of English football’s oldest and longest serving top flight clubs having competed in the highest division for a record 119 seasons. They are a club that is close to many Australian football fans’ hearts after the successful career of Socceroos legend Tim Cahill at Goodison Park. Everton will be led to Sydney by their manager Frank Lampard – one of the biggest names in world football in the last 20 years having made over 600 English Premier League appearances and receiving over 100 caps for the England national team. Lampard will be taking charge of his first full season as the boss of the Blues.
The Australian link with Celtic has recently become even stronger with Socceroos legend Harry Kewell joining Postecoglou’s coaching staff at Celtic for the upcoming season as they look to build on the success of Postecoglou’s first season in charge that saw Celtic claim both the Scottish Premier League title, and the Scottish League Cup.
The Everton v Celtic clash will be part of a blockbuster three-match series that will also see Celtic take on Sydney FC on November 17 at the newly opened Allianz Stadium and Everton take on Western Sydney Wanderers on November 23 at CommBank Stadium.
Backed by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW and Venues NSW, alongside event promoters TEG Sport, Left Field Live and VenuesLive, the event will further highlight the return of major global events to Sydney’s shores as NSW continues to lead the way in hosting major sport and entertainment events.
