In the past year alone, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead has treated 81,690 patients – enough to fill Stadium Australia!
And, according to Gilly Paxton, the Director of Community Relations and Marketing at the hospital, this would not have been achieved without the support of key sponsors like Stadium Australia and our wonderful Members who donate so generously every year at our Annual Members’ Dinner.
Since becoming benefactors, the Stadium has donated more than $302,000 to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Today we continued that tradition with Venues NSW Chairman Christine McLoughlin proudly presenting the hospital with another cheque for $25,000 raised at our 2017 Members’ Dinner.
Gilly thanked Christine, the Stadium and our Members for the difference we make in their patients’ lives, explaining: “When children leave here, instead of remembering the pain and suffering they went through . . . instead of remembering the operations and drugs. . . they often go home talking about the time they got to go to Monster Jam or to see their favourite football team run on to the field. Stadium Australia and the contribution of your Members helps to ensure these kids have a positive experience in hospital, and for that we can’t thank you enough.”
Bring on the 2018 Members’ Dinner and another chance to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause!
