- Work is underway at the site of the new Sydney Olympic Park Metro Station, which promises to revolutionise how fans get to and from events at Accor Stadium.
- The travel experience to Accor Stadium is evolving rapidly, with the M4 East tunnel to the Sydney CBD and widened M4 roadway to Parramatta already dramatically improving motorists’ travel times.
- Development work for Stage 2 of the Parramatta Light Rail is also underway. Stage 2 is planned to connect Stage 1 and Parramatta’s CBD to Sydney Olympic Park via Camellia, Rydalmere, Ermington, Melrose Park and Wentworth Point. The Light Rail will connect with Sydney Metro West at Olympic Park.

Large-scale excavation has kicked off at the game-changing Sydney Olympic Park Metro Station . . . part of the new underground railway that will cut the travel time from Sydney’s CBD to events at Accor Stadium to just 15 minutes.
Sydney Olympic Park Metro Station is one of nine underground railway stations on the future 24km Sydney Metro West line, which will connect the City of Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.
It is being built to the east of Olympic Boulevard with the station entrance in Herb Elliot Avenue just 200m from the gates of Accor Stadium.
NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said of the Sydney Olympic Park Metro Station: “This new transport link will further reinforce Sydney Olympic Park’s status as a premier events, sporting, and entertainment precinct, supporting the transit of more than 10 million people who visit or stay each year.”
NSW Transport Minister and Minister for Western Sydney David Elliott said: “Enjoying a day out at this sporting and entertainment precinct will be more accessible than ever – a metro train will take you from Parramatta to Sydney Olympic Park in just five minutes, and from the Sydney CBD it will take just 15 minutes.”
Sydney Metro Chief Executive Peter Regan said: “When this fully accessible station is complete it will provide increased capacity for customers during major events, including two dedicated event-mode entrances.”
