A MAMMOTH month of music is on its way at Stadium Australia, with back-to-back AC/DC concerts and a sold out Taylor Swift concert headlining in November.
Almost 200,000 music fans are expected to enjoy the three shows at Stadium Australia, adding to what has already been stellar year – with the Stadium on track to post its highest annual attendance for events since the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Kicking off next week, AC/DC are Back in Black and ready to rock with their Rock or Bust World Tour on Wednesday 4 and Saturday 7 November. Tickets available here.
The tour comes off the back of their worldwide No.1 album, Rock or Bust, which was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Released on December 2 last year, the album immediately topped sales charts around the globe.
More than four decades into a career that shows no sign of slowing down or letting up, the album is the band’s fifth No.1 album in Australia and joins a long list of iconic records that have sold over 220 million copies worldwide.
With their unique brand of high voltage rock ‘n’ roll, AC/DC’s uncomplicated approach has produced countless hits including Back in Black, Thunderstruck, Highway to Hell, Hells Bells, It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock ‘n’ Roll), You Shook Me All Night Long and many more.
Following on from the rock legends is the world’s hottest pop star, Taylor Swift, with her one-and-only sold-out Sydney concert at Stadium Australia on Saturday 28 November.
With over 30 million albums sold and seven Grammy Awards to her name, Swiftie is the only artist in history to have three albums debut with more than a million copies sold in their first week, with 1989 joining fellow multi-platinum selling albums Speak Now (2010) and Red (2012). Her 1989 album became Australia’s fastest-selling album of 2014 in less than four days.
Lead single ‘Shake It Off’ and its successor ‘Blank Space’ have also earned T-Swizzle the dual achievements of being the only artist to have two #1 singles in the HOT 100 US charts in 2014.
Melbourne born indie-pop performer Vance Joy will open the show at Stadium Australia. The Riptide singer released his debut album, Dream Your Life Away, in September and is a crowd favourite Down Under.
All Taylor Swift fans should be aware that 28 November is a very busy night in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct with the Taylor Swift concert, Stereosonic music festival and AUS-X Supercross Open all taking place.
