Stadium Australia is hosting a historic finals triple-header this weekend with two NRL qualifying finals and one AFL semi-final in a magnificent weekend of sporting action.
On Friday night, 13 September, the South Sydney Rabbitohs qualified for a Week 3 NRL Peliminary Final when they defeated reigning premiers Melbourne Storm 20-10.
On Saturday night, 14 September, the Sydney Swans beat Carlton 86-62 to keep their season alive and progress to a preliminary final.
Sunday afternoon, 15 September, will see (4pm kick-off) the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs play an Elimination Final against Newcastle Knights.
To make the transition from NRL to AFL then back to NRL again, 240 staff members will work through the night to transform and re-stock the Stadium.
In an extraordinary weekend of elite sporting action, Stadium Australia’s finals schedule this weekend will be:
- Friday night – NRL Qualifying Final: South Sydney Rabbitohs v Melbourne Storm (7.45pm);
